If you answered yes to most of these questions, then it sounds like you may be a fit for our Technical Sales Position. You would have a proven sales track record and aptitude to interpret technical drawings or blueprints. If you have knowledge of any fabrication techniques or CNC machining of custom parts this would be great but is not required.
You would be responsible for promptly responding to leads as they are given to you. Asking the right questions to potential clients and discovering how Miller can help is key to the success of this position. We often can deliver more of our services to a client than they are aware of. Probing the client to discover their business needs to expand their use of Miller's capabilities is a large part of this role. Leads are generated by our marketing efforts and clients will inquire with us to bid on their projects. Maintaining, growing, and servicing these new accounts would be your responsibility. Occasionally your input will be required for marketing so we can ensure our efforts are targeting the right audience.
You must be an enthusiastic and a sale orientated person to join our growing team. In this role, you will be required to demonstrate the technical features of our abilities to custom build our client's products to their specifications and our standards. You will be the client’s main point of contact at Miller. Keeping in touch will be essential to the growth of each account. We utilize Salesforce, an advanced CRM to manage each account, job, quote, and inner office communications.
To ensure success as a Technical Sales Executive, you should have strong technical and mechanical aptitude and a passion for sales. The ability to understand and anticipate the needs of a client and provide them with direction to the proper product(s) is ideal. Very minimum travel is required for this position. Miller will exhibit in a select few trade shows that are to help increase the visibility of Miller to keep us at the forefront of the industry. Expenses will be paid if you are chosen to attend the event.
What will be expected of you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience in sales and/or customer relations.
- Technical aptitude and/or experience in an industrial/technical sale.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (365, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent prospecting and lead qualification skills.
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Time management comes easily.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Demonstrate creative negotiation, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Be able to overcome objections and rebuttals.
- Ability to learn Miller's capabilities to engage clients in a technical discussion.
Technical Sales Executive responsibilities in this role will be:
- Prepares technical price proposals.
- Sourcing potential new clients.
- Maintaining contact with your existing clients.
- Following up on quotes and inquiries.
- Able to effectively convey the technical features and benefits of our products.
- Composing documents and customer quotes as needed.
- Keeping good notes on customer communications in our CRM.
- Maintain and build strong customer relations.
- Develop and execute sales strategies.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to reach company revenue goals.
- Provide market feedback to the management team to optimize positioning for marketing.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Miller Plastic's products and capabilities.
Desired but not required:
- Salesforce and/or JobBoss software proficiency.
- Marketing experience, and social media skills.
- Blueprint Reading.
This position is working within a team environment, you will work closely with your coworkers to effectively ensure the client is satisfied. The office is business casual and has a friendly environment. Our clients are all vastly different, so we are constantly working on different types of projects. This keeps things exciting and learning new things never stops. Every day is different. This position will have an office (in the wall, not a cubicle). Our office operates from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Remote work is not available for this position. This Salary/Hourly position is not a commission position. You must be able to pass a background screening and carry a valid driver's license. You must be a US Citizen or have the proper documentation to work in the US. You also must have reliable personal transportation.
